Yates County Chamber of Commerce Celebrates Community Champions at 2026 Annual Dinner
PENN YAN, N.Y. — The Yates County Chamber of Commerce honored the people, businesses, and organizations who make the Yates County community shine at its 2026 Annual Dinner, held June 10th at Climbing Bines. The evening was presented by Lyons National Bank and brought together members, sponsors, and community leaders for happy hour, dinner, and an awards presentation recognizing outstanding contributions across Yates County.
"Every year, this dinner reminds us just how much heart goes into building a stronger Yates County," said Chamber President Jessica Bacher. "These award winners aren't just doing good work. They're doing it because they genuinely care about this place.
2026 Award Winners
Snow Memorial Spirit Award: Friends of the Outlet
Named for former Chamber Director and Tourism Committee Chair Norman Snow, this award goes to a business or organization that shows real dedication to enriching our community through volunteerism, leadership, collaboration, and engagement. This year's honoree, Friends of the Outlet, was recognized for that same tireless community spirit.

Seager Memorial Pride Award: Dawn Shipman
Honoring former Chamber Executive Director Emily Seager, this award celebrates an individual whose positivity and encouragement lift everyone around them. Dawn Shipman was recognized for the uplifting spirit she brings to both her professional and personal life, fostering a welcoming, supportive environment wherever she goes.

Maxwell Memorial Award (Director of the Year): Kim Hughes
Named for longtime Chamber Director Robert Maxwell, this award recognizes a Chamber Director who gives generously of their time serving on committees, chairing projects, and staying an active force in the community. Kim is the Treasurer of the Board and is the Director of Finance at the New York Wine & Grape Foundation.

Linehan Memorial Business of the Year Award: Stork Insurance Agency
Named after longtime Chamber champion and former President & CEO Mike Linehan, this award recognizes a Chamber member business that consistently goes above and beyond for its customers and community. Stork Insurance Agency, serving Finger Lakes communities since 1842, was this year's honoree.
