Get ready for two new Dundee Village Holiday Events, Dundee “Christmas Market” and the Village “Christmas Tree Lighting” Ceremony happening on Saturday Nov 30th.
The Dundee Area Merchants Holiday Shopping Promotion, Shop Small…Shop Dundee, kicks off on Nov 30th with the Dundee “Christmas Market” held from 1p and 5p at Dundee Masonic Lodge, Main Street in Dundee. “Christmas Market” is open to all Dundee Area Merchants but in particular to merchants without a storefront…local home-based businesses. Shoppers visit “Christmas Market” merchants to shop and to pick up their Shop Dundee Bag and register to win a prize. Then at 6pm the Village “Christmas Tree Lighting” Ceremony will take place at 4 corners in downtown Dundee. Village crew will set up the tree and add lights. Throughout the day everyone is invited to bring a decoration to add to the tree. At 6p there will be a “Hallmark Movie Style” lighting ceremony to kick off the holiday season. Refreshments will be served. The Shop Small…Shop Dundee promotion continues throughout the area from Dec 1st to Dec 18th. There is no charge for “Christmas Market” merchants and all merchants will receive Registration boxes, Shop Dundee Promotional shopping bags plus full-page newspaper ad, Yates Chamber of Commerce and OTR Social-Media support. Shoppers visit participating merchants, pick up their Dundee Shopping Bag and register for a Holiday Prize and of course Shop Local! On Dec 17th a winner will be chosen from each participating business. Then all entries from each business will be entered to win a Grand Prize (TBA) to be drawn Dec 18th at 5pm during the “Cookies, Cocoa and Caroling” event at Our Town Rocks.
Tis the Season continues with the Annual Community Lighting Contest November 30th - December 15th, Dundee Central School Elementary Winter Concert at 6:30p on Dec 10th, Breakfast with Santa from 8:30 – 11a at the Dundee Masonic Lodge on Saturday Dec 14th followed by the Christmas Craft Fair from Noon to 4p at the Masonic Lodge. Events on Dec 14th, continue when the Magic of the Season Christmas Parade begins at 5:30p at Dundee Central School, passes through the village and delivers Santa and Mrs. Claus to Seneca Street Park for the Touch of Christmas at 6p. On Dec 17th at 6:30p, enjoy the Dundee Central school Junior/Senior High School Winter Concert. On Dec 18th it’s Cookies, Cocoa and Caroling at Our Town Rocks at 5:30p with the Community Lighting Contest winner’s announcement. Also, there will be a free Christmas Dinner at the VFW on December 25th.
