Ribbon Cutting Celebrates Opening of WaxPax Records in Penn Yan

The Yates County Chamber of Commerce celebrated the official ribbon cutting for WaxPax Records on Friday, March 27, welcoming the new record shop to downtown Penn Yan at 112 Main Street.

Community members, local leaders, and supporters gathered to mark the opening of the business, which brings a vibrant addition to Penn Yan's Main Street retail scene. Owned by Mark Collier, WaxPax Records brings a love of music and vinyl culture to the Finger Lakes with a curated selection of new and used records and CD's across a variety of genres, music collectibles, movies, books, record players, and a welcoming space for music lovers of all ages.

For Mark, opening the shop here is also a meaningful homecoming. He grew up in Penn Yan, where his parents owned the former Collier Bakery on Maiden Lane. The area holds many personal memories, including meeting his wife here and being married at the Civil War monument on the courthouse lawn. Keuka Lake and the Penn Yan community have been calling him back for some time, and now Mark is bringing WaxPax Records with him from its established location in Pennsylvania.

The Chamber congratulates WaxPax Records on its opening and looks forward to supporting its continued success as part of Penn Yan’s growing small business community.
