Mozaic Celebrates Skylarc Gallery Open House and Ribbon Cutting in Penn Yan
PENN YAN, N.Y. – Mozaic marked a new chapter for its art programming with an open house and ribbon cutting for Skylarc Gallery on September 30th to celebrate the occasion and tour the new space with the Yates County Chamber of Commerce.
Skylarc Studio is part of the art programming of Mozaic, supporting people with disabilities and other barriers in exploring their creativity, developing artistic skills, and expressing themselves. The gallery gives these artists a welcoming place to share their work with the community. People can expect to come into the gallery and see various types of canvas, clay, resin, sea glass, and wood art.
"This gallery showcases the amazing work that the people we support here at Mozaic do, it promotes inclusivity, pride, and creativity. It brings the community together and gives those we support an avenue to express themselves”, said Allen Connely, President and CEO of Mozaic. “This milestone of opening the art gallery is more than just a place for people to come and purchase art, it is mission."
Currently the Gallery is open by appointment only by reaching out to Casandra Harris at casandra.harris@mozaic.org or calling (315) 694-7672. They hope to have hours of operation soon.
All the funds raised go back into providing more art opportunities for those supported by Mozaic. Those interested in donating to Skylarc Studio without purchasing art may donate to the Skylarc Program Fund by visiting www.mozaic.org/skylarcprogramfund.
