Leadership Yates County Program Announced to Build Next Generation of Local Leaders
A new initiative aimed at developing and connecting Yates County’s next generation of leaders will launch in January of 2026, through the Finger Lakes Economic Development Center (FLEDC). The program, called Leadership Yates County, is designed to equip emerging and established professionals with the skills, insight, and community perspective needed to lead effectively within their organizations and throughout the region.
The six-session program, hosted at Keuka College, will feature a curriculum tailored to local challenges and opportunities. Participants will have increased self-awareness, enhanced ability to lead up, down and around an organization effectively, practical tools to develop and lead others with confidence along with many other key learning outcomes.
“Leadership Yates County is about growing our future leaders right here at home,” said Steve Griffin, CEO of the Finger Lakes Economic Development Center. “Participants will leave the program with practical tools they can immediately apply in their careers, while also gaining a deeper understanding of how they can make a lasting impact in our community.”
Both individuals and employers stand to benefit from participation. Attendees will strengthen their leadership capacity, expand their professional networks, and gain confidence in managing teams and projects. Employers will see employees return to work with improved communication skills, stronger problem-solving abilities, and a renewed commitment to organizational success and community involvement.
Applications for the inaugural Leadership Yates County class are now being accepted. The application deadline is December 12th, 2025. and corporate sponsorship opportunities are also available through the FLEDC. Sponsorships help make the program accessible to a diverse range of participants while highlighting each organization’s commitment to leadership development in Yates County.
