Middlesex, NY -- The craftsmen and musicians of the Rochester Folk Art Guild invite all to their much anticipated Fall Open House and Apple Festival on October 10 and 11. This beloved autumn tradition is set to take place from 11 to 4 at the scenic Guild location at 1445 Upper Hill Road, Middlesex, NY. Celebrate the beauty of fall, the harvest, and the rich outpouring of craft with the artisans who live the creative life and who are eager to share this joy.
The offerings include: Self-guided tours of the workshops and studios in pottery, weaving, woodworking, graphic arts, "Inspired Designs," and East Hill Gallery which features our Natural Fiber Clothing.
Take advantage of the chance to speak with the makers, and to purchase their work.
See demonstrations of the craft process as potters throw on the wheel and woodturners lathe turn pieces right before your eyes.
Family friendly activities for all ages abound such as crafting a notecard in colored paper, pinching a clay pot, or walking to the barn to see the alpacas.
Taste fresh-pressed apple cider in the yard and take home a jug. Take a turn squeezing the fruit in the screw press, producing the sweet juice. Organic apples and pears will be available also.
A delicious farmhouse lunch from the Guild garden and seasonal desserts are served in the Dining Room. Fresh loaves of bread right from the oven will be available.
Live Music under the tent lines up singer-songwriters on Saturday and folk music on Sunday. Take a look at this schedule:
