This Year’s Community Table Dinner Raises $20K for Penn Yan Community Café

The 2025 Community Table Dinner took place on September 6th at the Finger Lakes Produce Auction. While the intent is to host the dinner on the Main Street Bridge in Penn Yan, this is the third year where inclement weather moved the event to a rain location.

“The Finger Lakes Produce Auction was a natural and meaningful location to host the Community Table Fundraiser, which is why we chose it as the rain location this year”, commented Jessica Bacher, President of the Yates County Chamber of Commerce. “As a regional hub that connects local farmers, producers, and buyers, the Auction embodies the spirit of agriculture, collaboration, and community that the event was designed to celebrate,” she added.

This year’s chosen beneficiary was the Penn Yan Community Café, which is part of Keuka Advocacy Services. The non-profit is dedicated to addressing food insecurity and  acts as a local advocate and navigator, helping individuals and families in Yates County overcome barriers to basic needs and supportive programs.

The organization began operating out of 104 Water Street in Penn Yan this past fall. The new and large office space gives the organization an opportunity to expand their services, reach more people, and increase their accessibility and exposure to the community. A ribbon cutting was held to honor this milestone for the organization.

On November 20th, at the joint annual meeting of the Yates County Chamber and Finger Lakes Economic Development Center of Yates County, a check for $20,000 was presented to them.

“We’re lucky to have people like Connie Glover in our community”, said Jessica. “Her years of dedication and continued commitment to her clients and the community is admirable, so presenting the check from the Community Table Dinner was so important to help her and the organization move then needle forward.”
