Yates County Soil Health & Nutrient Management Workshop

The Town of Milo Agricultural Committee, Yates County Soil & Water Conservation District, and Yates County Cornell Cooperative Extension are hosting a workshop that will cover a variety of topics including soil health and resiliency, nutrient management, weather events and changing climatic conditions, agricultural invasive species, white mold control in soybeans, Harmful algal blooms, and watershed health. Topics covered in the workshop provide the opportunity to receive pesticide credits.
Speakers include Anthony Prestigiacomo, NYS DEC Finger Lakes Watershed HUB; Jerry Martin and Jeff Stoltzfus, Penn State University Extension Team Members; Tom Eskildsen, District Technician Yates County Soil & Water Conservation District; Kitty O’Neil, Cornell Climate Smart Farming Extension Team; Sarah Pethybridge, Cornell University Assistant Professor of Plant Pathology; Laura Bailey, CCE Natural Resources Educator.
The workshop will be held at the Finger Lakes Produce Auction Barn, 3691 Route 14A in Penn Yan on Wednesday, February 13th from 9am to 3pm (registration opens at 8:30am). Attendees seeking pesticide credits must be signed in prior to the start of the workshop (9am) to receive credits.
Cost is $5/person pre-registered or $10 day of the event. RSVP required by February 1st to ensure meal availability.
