Yates County Art Center's Virtual Annual Meeting

Usually in mid-September, Arts Center members receive a fun and formal invitation in the (real!) mail inviting their participation in our annual meeting. This is a celebratory event that has also become the Arts Center’s biggest fundraiser. It features a very popular wine pull and a silent auction that combines “experiences” and objects. The Columbus Day event features entertainment, speakers, and an opportunity to celebrate the year that has been and to envision the year ahead. The Annual Meeting also includes business activities— congratulating the Norma Peeler Volunteer of the Year and the Artist of the Year, as well as voting on new members for the Board of Directors and board officers. Usually a great time is had by all (even those beaten out for prizes in the silent auction!). Not surprisingly, circumstances precluded having a “traditional” annual dinner this year. But the Arts Center Board still feels there is much to celebrate in a year that has seen volunteers and supporters stepping up to meet the challenges and finding opportunities to ensure the Arts Center succeeds in its mission to provide Yates County residents, artists, and visitors with opportunities to enrich their lives through active participation in the arts. Therefore, everyone is cordially invited to the Arts Center’s virtual annual meeting— a Zoom meeting to be held on Thursday, December 10th at 5:30 pm. Look for an email invitation with meeting information at the beginning of December. We’ll also have that information on our website, artscenteryatescounty.org. Hosted by Arts Center Board Chair Dixon Zorovich, this year’s annual meeting will include a recap of 2020 activities, plans for 2021, a celebration of our volunteers and artist of the year, and entertainment, courtesy of the Wednesday Concert Series Board. We hope you’ll take a bit of time to join us, learn what’s been happening at the Arts Center, and what we have planned as we continue to make lemonade out of the lemons served up in 2020!
