Location
Hunt Country Vineyards
Description
Join us for a 1-mile guided walk along the vineyards and into the neighboring forest to look and listen for breeding warblers including Ovenbirds, Blue-winged Warblers, Yellow Warblers, and American Redstarts. Other breeding species we may encounter include Tree Swallows, Song Sparrows, Baltimore Orioles, Red-eyed Vireos, and Eastern Phoebe. The walk will take place along a gravel farm road which may have some uneven footing, and once we reached the wooded area there is a slight hill. Following the walk, we will return to the Hunt Country Vineyard tasting room where their knowledgeable staff will walk you through a selection of wine and food pairings. As you're enjoying the refreshments, we will welcome Daena Ford, President of Braddock Bay Raptor Research. Daena will lead a live bird of prey presentation where you will get up close looks at several ambassador birds of prey. This event will run rain or shine. Wear sturdy shoes and bring your binoculars and camera to capture images of the beautiful vineyards and birds.
Please note: This event takes place at Hunt Country Vineyard (4021 Italy Hill Rd, Branchport, NY 14418). Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early to check in, the guided walk will depart promptly at 1 p.m.
