Description
In partnership with the Ontario County Soil & Water Conservation District, the FLM is pleased to offer a rain barrel workshop at the FLM Campus. OCSWD’s Alaina Robarge will start with a presentation on stormwater, the importance of water conservation, how to install the rain barrel at home, maintenance and winter storage of the barrel, and a demonstration on how to build the barrel. Program participants will be putting the rain barrel together, with assistance from the Ontario County SWCD. The Rain Barrels are 55 gallon plastic food-grade barrels that will have pre-drilled inlet, outlet, and overflow holes.
The $50 fee covers the cost of materials for one rain barrel. Bring your family to make one rain barrel together or each make your own. Cost is per rain barrel, not per participant.
There are two ticket options for this event:
- Attend the lecture in person and walk away with materials to make your own rain barrel for your home.
- Attend the lecture virtually. No physical materials will be provided.
If you would like to attend virtually and pick up rain barrel materials, please contact Program Director, Debbie Lyon at dlyon@fingerlakesmuseum.org to make arrangements.
