Penn Yan Community Read: Dancing in the Mosque Community Connections

Penn Yan Action Coalition, Literacy Volunteers of Ontario-Yates, and Penn Yan Public Library invite you to participate in this year’s community read of Dancing in the Mosque: An Afghan Mother’s Letter to Her Son by Homeira Qaderi, a book that “challenges you to reconsider the meaning of motherhood, sacrifice, and survival” and “to consider the lengths you would go to protect yourself, your family, and your dignity.” For this final session, we will welcome representatives of Saint’s Place, a Rochester-based refugee service organization, as well as several Afghan women who will share their stories with us.
