Description
Creating poetry based on a painting or other work of art is known as “ekphrastic poetry.” Let work in the Flick Gallery inspire your poetic muse! In this class we’ll examine examples of ekphrastic poetry and the works that inspired by them,discuss an overview of writing a poem, focus on capturing the imagery in a painting that “speaks to” you and crafting a poem based on that painting.
