Rescheduled from July! Critical Race Theory (CRT) has been dominating conversations about the ways that the most troubling aspects of American history, such as slavery and discrimination, can or should be taught to primary and secondary students. But in the midst of the sometimes confusing rhetoric on the subject, what is clear is that many of us don’t really know what CRT is, nor how race, diversity, and equity are really being taught in some schools. Join us for a panel discussion including educators, academics, and a mental health specialist to gain a better understanding of these issues, and to share your questions or comments on the topic. Register for this event at www.bit.ly/pyplconvo, and be sure to grab a mug of your favorite beverage for the conversation. Presented by Penn Yan Public Library and sponsored by the Finger Lakes Justice Partnership.
