Description
Join us for a panel discussion exploring one of the key questions of our time: what is the role of the media in a democratic society? Much maligned in recent years over accusations of bias and inaccuracy, journalism nevertheless remains an important force in keeping our citizenry informed. What’s behind the diminishing trust in this crucial institution? What can the media do to regain its standing? What do we stand to lose if the media landscape continues to erode? We’ll touch on all this and more with our special guests: Hannah Dickinson, associate professor of writing and rhetoric at the Colleges of Hobart and William Smith, and Gwen Chamberlain and John Christensen, editor and reporter at our own Chronicle Express, respectively.
