Description
In the past 18 years, the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition (FLIWC) has grown by more than 360% and become among the largest wine competition in the nation to benefit a charity.
The competition originally started as a fundraiser for Camp Good Days and Special Times seventeen years ago, with only 800 entries, now topping over 2800. Today, the competition and gala has grown exponentially and evolved into the charity's single-largest fundraising event. Winemakers, writers, educators, sommeliers, and restaurantuers from around the world serve as wine judges, sampling some of the best wines produced.
Award-winning wines will be featured at public events following the competition, including a the Camp Good Days Wine Auction Dinner, to benefit Camp Good Days and Special Times. The dinner, which draws a crowd of more than 450 wine aficionados and collectors, will be held on
November 16, 2019, at the Holiday Inn Plaza in Rochester, NY.
All proceeds from the competition and subsequent events benefit Camp Good Days and Special Times, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children and families all over the world, whose lives have been touched by cancer and other life-threatening challenges. Located in the heart of New York State's Finger Lakes wine country, the Camp offers residential programs, year-round activities, and events for adults and children. The Finger Lakes International Wine Competition is managed by, and for the benefit of the Camp Good Days and Special Times.
