About Us

Joe’s Engine Rebuilding and Parts is a true family legacy rooted in craftsmanship, reliability, and small-town pride. Owned and operated by David Alexander, a Penn Yan Academy graduate, the business has deep local ties dating back to 1919, when it first opened as Jensen Machine Shop.

David joined the business in 1995, working alongside his uncle, Joe Alexander, who led the shop for decades. In 2008, David officially took ownership and today runs the operation with his son, Erik, continuing a multi-generational tradition of skilled engine work and personalized service.

Serving customers from across the region, Joe’s Engine specializes in rebuilding and reconditioning engines, with a strong focus on agricultural equipment like tractors and combines. From precision machining to complete rebuilds, their work ensures that essential equipment stays running when it matters most, especially during the busy farming season.

Known for their attention to detail and commitment to doing the job right, David and Erik take pride in delivering quality work their customers can trust. That dedication has built lasting relationships and a loyal customer base over the years.

At its core, Joe’s Engine Rebuilding and Parts is more than a business, it’s a family tradition built on hard work, integrity, and keeping the community moving.
