DESCRIPTION:On September 7th The Rochester Folk Art Guild presents it's third "First Saturday" summer luncheon from Noon - 2 PM. Our September lunch host is the Rochester Folk Art Guild Woodshop. This month come meet resident Folk Art Guild woodturner David Barnet. His love of wood has led him on a 44 year journey exploring woodworking and fruit growing.\n\n \n\nSample an intersection of the two pursuits when you view the finished wooden pieces in the Gallery\, and taste the peach crisp dessert at lunch on Sept. 7th. Weather permitting you can dine outside in the shade or choose to eat in our community dining room decorated with pressed flower art created by our founder Louise March.\n\n \n\nOur Menu includes quiche provencal with garden vegetables\, zucchini soup\, our fresh lettuce\, sliced tomatoes with basil\, and peach crisp harvested from our trees.\n\n\n\nPlease RSVP to 585-554-3539\, or email folkartguild@gmail.com \n\nThe cost for the lunch is $12.00 \n\n \n\nFollowing the luncheon at 3pm there will be a Free Concert in the Rochester Folk Art Guild Music Hall.\n\n \n\nCecilia Ignatieff will present rarely heard piano music by Thomas de Hartmann at the Rochester Folk Art Guild Saturday September 7th at 3 pm. \n\n \n\nIgnatieff will be assisted by Guild musicians Matthew Shubin\, bassoon and Paul Schliffer\, flute. In addition\, Thomas A. G. Daly will provide commentary and present an exhibit of documents and images from the de Hartmann Archive in Montreal. The program will trace de Hartmann's search for his own true musical expression through piano works written from 1906 through 1954.
